1. Pickup is between 08:30 and 09:00. Meet your guide in front of your Dubai hotel and ride in an air-conditioned vehicle to Al Bastakiya, a historic district.

2. Visit Al Fahidi, a fortress turned museum, and spend some time on its exhibits.

3. Cross Dubai Creek on a classic abra boat and shop among the vendors of Deira's Spice Souk and Gold Souk.

4. Head downtown, stopping for photos of the domes of Jumeirah Mosque and the elegant curves of the Burj Al Arab Hotel.

5. Have lunch near the world's largest choreographed fountain.

6. Pass beneath Burj Khalifa, the tallest building on the planet.

7. Take in the Dubai Mall and its 1,200 stores, catch glimpses of the man-made Palm Islands, and see the 79 Jumeirah Towers, sparkling skyscrapers along the waterfront.

8. Make a final stop at the Mall of the Emirates, where locals ski at an indoor ski resort.
